Reflectix® North Wall Insulation

The Reflectix North Wall Insulation covers approximately one-third of the polycarbonate glazing panels on the interior of the Growing Dome®. Its strategic placement on the north side of the dome helps maintain a warm greenhouse in winter and a cooler one in the summer.

The insulation reflects light and radiant energy away from the greenhouse from the outside, providing shade for the above-ground pond during the summer. This shading helps keep the pond’s water and the greenhouse’s ambient air temperature cool. Conversely, in the winter when the sun is lower on the horizon, the insulation reflects the sun’s light and radiant energy towards the above-ground pond from the inside, keeping the pond’s water and the greenhouse’s ambient air temperature warm.

The Reflectix used on our greenhouses is double-sided, so the reflection of radiant energy works in both directions, in all seasons.
